Brown's Concrete Products Ltd., based in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, was honored at the Rosetta Hardscapes Producer Summit held Sept. 25-27 with the 2018 Rosetta Project Award for Residential Project of the Year.
While many manufacturers submitted their projects for consideration, Brown's project rose to the top based on the best overall quality, creativity, and salesmanship. The residential project of the year transformed a backyard space that was virtually unusable due to extreme grade changes, into a new outdoor living area. The contractor for the project, Belsey Excavating & Landscape, started the project in the front yard with natural stone but suggested transitioning to Rosetta Hardscapes, which has the appearance of natural stone but the consistency of a manufactured product, for the backyard to meet the homeowner's desire for a quick installation.
"Anybody can do it," said Pete Belsey of Belsey Excavating & Landscape.
Continual support from Brown's Concrete Products made a complex project both possible and more economical than natural stone. Rosetta's consistent product sizes and ease of use allowed installers in their 50s and 60s to meet the homeowners demands of finishing the project as quickly as possible. The new outdoor living area features over 10 loads of Rosetta Hardscapes products from Brown's Concrete products including: Outcropping, Belvedere Walls and Fire Pit, and both Irregular and Dimensional Steps.
